Hirik, Nevin
“For me painting is the key to my secret garden. When you are in, you are part of my garden; it is also your garden. It is all about sharing the stories. Life, memories, fun, happiness, tears, souls. My story, your story, our story..
Lovers, winners, losers, history, moving, tears, parting, happiness, surviving, welcoming, sharing, new life, family, friends, innocents, guilt, pure, mistakes, silence, beauty, beauty of the souls, dreams…lots of dream’s. Dreams to remember.”
Nevin Hirik 2009
“Nevin uses her brush the way a musician uses a delicate musical instrument.
On dark warm backgrounds feint lines travel gently and produce an environment of inner landscape.
Those lines can turn into flowers and gently disappear to reappear again as drops. The music they produce is that of a harp, suggesting enigmatic, hesitant and lyrical contours of hidden horizons or ending of hilltops.
Her paintings contain space, in which emotion travels, when a figure is presented it will appear two dimensional as a spirit, which dwells amongst that inner landscape of the wind.
Those panoramas of landscapes are embroidered by Nevin’s soul and very inviting. It is easy for the viewer to lose himself in Nevin’s paintings. He who seeks refuge from harsh daily reality can find balance in the reality created by Nevin.”
